This one was fun! I needed a Victorian looking, gothic style necklace for a vampire costume. I made a bat out of stiffened velvet and intended that to be a pendant on a short necklace. But once I started the necklace it turned into a choker which became a different style from the bat pendant. So I went with it and followed the style into this:
This looks much better with the neckline of the costume than the bat did and I was able to make the bat into a fascinator to decorate dark vampire locks.
The choker drapes worked out nicely. Luckily I had the black drops in eyesight when I was weaving the top part. It was one of those creative episodes where you have to disregard what you intended to do and just “follow the directions”. Awesome.
